MS and Massage
When you hear someone has “MS” do you know what it means? Here at Integrative Health Therapies, we wanted to take a moment to talk about this unpredictable disease and how massage can help ease the symptoms of MS sufferers. Let’s dive right in and discuss what MS is, how it impacts people, what massage can do to help and how YOU can raise awareness.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the nervous system. While research continues to discover more about the disease one thing remains constant: it is unpredictable! MS impacts people differently and each flare-up can be different from the last. For instance, an MS patient’s first flare up was loss of feeling to his extremities whereas his second affected his vision. The cause of MS is unknown but is believed to be impacted by environmental factors.
